Marco Polo Airport (VCE):Approximate driving time to the Piazzale Roma, Venice’s main entry point, is 20 minutes, and the distance is 13 km (8 miles).
Rental cars and buses go from the airport to the Piazzale Roma. From there, guests can take a vaporetto (water bus) across the lagoon. The stop nearest the hotel is Ferrovia. The hotel can also arrange for water-taxi transportation directly to the front door (surcharge).
The vaporetto (water-bus) system connects the major islands of the lagoon (Murano, Burano, the Lido, and Torcello) with the historic center of Venice. Vaporetti 1 and 82 travel the Grand Canal from Piazzale Roma to St. Mark’s Square. Beyond water travel, walking is an easy way to explore Venice. The historic center measures less than 8 square km (3 square miles). The hotel can also order water taxis on request.
