Attractions near this hotel

Marco Polo Airport (VCE): Approximate driving time to the Piazzale Roma, historical Venice’s only entry point by car, is 20 minutes and distance is 13 km (8 mile). Car rentals are available online, and there is public parking at Piazzale Roma, the historical center''s land-transportation terminus, and a parking garage at nearby Tronchetto.

Getting there: From the airport, visitors go by water or by land across the lagoon to historical Venice. By water, the fastest and most expensive way is by water taxi. Less expensive and slower is a boat that stops at other islands in the lagoon and terminates adjacent to St. Mark''s Square, approximately 50 meters (55 yards) from the hotel. By land there are taxis and buses that go from the airport to Piazzale Roma, the historical center''s land-transportation terminus near the train station (Stazione Ferroviaria). From Piazzale Roma (and from the train station on the opposite side of Grand Canal), public waterbuses (vaporetti) go to various stops around the city along the Grand Canal and other major waterways. More expensive water taxis go from Piazzale Roma and the train station more directly to, or near, hotels via smaller canals.

Directions to hotel: The St. Mark''s Basin waterbus stop nearest the hotel is San Marco/Vallaresso, 50 meters (55 yards) away. After getting off the waterbus, walk straight on Calle Vallaresso away from the canal to the hotel''s entrance on the left.

Getting around: The vaporetto (waterbus) system connects the historical center of Venice to the lagoon''s major islands (the Lido of Venice, Murano, Burano, and Torcello). Public waterbuses circulate along the Grand Canal from Piazzale Roma (and from the train station on the opposite side of the canal) to St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) in St. Mark''s Basin and along other major waterways. Water taxis, which the hotel staff arranges on request, operate throughout the city, using major waterways and smaller canals. Gondolas for individual sightseeing tours can be rented throughout the city. Walking around Venice, with its narrow streets and little bridges, is easy, as the historical center is compact. Street maps are readily available.
