Laurel Court - The restored Laurel Court restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner in an ornate setting, with wall murals and glass domes overhead. Large lunch buffet features seasonal fruits and salads. At dinner, French-inspired regional cuisine is offered. Menu items include herb-crusted spring Niman Ranch lamb, and striped bass in a spiny lobster broth. The Laurel Court Bar offers an array of wines and a light-fare menu.

Tonga Room and Hurricane Bar - Tropical tiki room hosts a happy hour with a full appetizer buffet. Live band plays into the evening on a floating island, in the middle of a swimming pool. The restaurant is open for dinner and offers Pacific Rim cuisine and such dishes as Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef chow fun, and stir-fried Maine lobster.

However, guests are advised to make use of the variety of inexpensive public transit options, because parking is expensive and hard to find. The MUNI system offers routes throughout the city and includes electric streetcars, cable cars, trolleys, buses, and light rail. A cable car stop is located next to the hotel, and MUNI stops are within three blocks of the hotel. All-day and three-day MUNI passes both cost $5–$15 and are valid for unlimited travel and transfers. A Bay Area Rapid Transit station is located a half-mile from the hotel and offers service throughout the Bay Area, and to both Oakland and San Francisco international airports. Taxi service is available throughout the city.
