Americano Restaurant - A lighthearted ambience prevails at this street-level fine-dining restaurant. The open kitchen serves Italian cuisine with a California influence. Menu items might include halibut carpaccio, pizzas, fresh pasta, grilled tuna with sweet peas and shoots, or grilled New York steak stuffed with trumpet mushrooms. Restaurant is separated by curtains from its circular bar, popular with locals after work; alfresco dining is offered on the patio facing the Embarcadero. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and brunch on weekends.

    Attractions near this hotel

Getting there: BART operates between both airports and the Embarcadero Station, two blocks from the hotel. From there, guests can catch a taxi or walk to the hotel. Shuttle service from either airport costs $5-$15; and taxis cost more than $36. Rental cars are available online.

Getting around: Walking is a good way to get around the hotel’s Financial District/Embarcadero neighborhood. San Francisco’s MUNI system offers routes throughout the city and includes electric streetcars, cable cars, vintage trolleys, buses, and light rail; connections to all are within two blocks of the hotel. The terminus for the California Street cable car line is two blocks from the hotel. All-day and three-day MUNI passes, valid for unlimited travel and transfers, cost $5–$15. The BART rail system provides access to much of the Bay Area, including Berkeley and Oakland; the Embarcadero BART station is two blocks from the hotel. Taxis are also available. Plentiful alternative transportation makes a car unnecessary, and parking in the city is expensive and hard to find. For travel to outlying areas, such as Sausalito or Napa Valley, guests can rent a car for the day, or take a tour.
