Grand Café - Guests enjoy preferred seating at this French brasserie-style restaurant reminiscent of a Parisian railway station circa 1929. Décor includes travel posters, soaring ceilings, arched windows, glowing chandeliers, and original sculptures. Contemporary seasonal cuisine and American favorites available daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Specialties include grilled “hanger” steak with roasted shallots and Sonoma duck breast with Yukon Gold potatoes. Fresh seafood daily, including clams, mussels, periwinkles, and oysters.

Petite Café and Bar - Occupying the front side of the hotel, this popular bistro bar serves French favorites such as Salade Lyonnaise and a classic cheese omelet until late evening on weekends. Sophisticated cocktails–there are five kinds of Manhattans–compliment after-theater socializing.

Getting there: Bay Area Rapid Transit operates directly from both airports to the Powell Street Station, four blocks from the hotel. From there, guests can catch a taxi or walk to the hotel. Shuttle service from either airport is available at a cost of $5-$15, and taxi service is available for more than $36. Rental cars are available online.

Getting around: Walking is a popular way of getting around at any hour. On weekday mornings the hotel provides complimentary Town Car service to the Financial District. (Times and availability subject to change.) The MUNI system includes electric streetcars, cable cars, vintage trolleys, buses, and light rail. Bus and cable car stops are within a block of the hotel. All-day and three-day MUNI passes both cost $5–$15 and are valid for unlimited travel and transfers. The BART rail system provides access to much of the Bay Area, including Berkeley and Oakland; the Powell Street BART station is four blocks from the hotel. Taxis are also available. Plentiful alternative transportation makes renting a car unnecessary, and parking in the city is generally scarce and expensive. For travel to outlying areas guests can rent a car for the day.
