Salzburg Airport (SZG): Approximate driving time is 15 minutes and distance is 8 kilometres (5 miles).
The airport is a 15 or 20 train journey from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof main railway station. The number 77 bus also runs at regular intervals between the airport and the main railway station. Taxis are available right outside the airport terminal and charge around €15 to the city centre.
Driving directions: From Munich, take the A1 towards Vienna and exit at Salzburg Mitte. Go straight ahead towards Zentrum and follow the main road Ignaz-Harrer-Straße. Go across the river to St. Julien Straße, under the railway bridge and into Gabelsbergerstraße. At the second traffic lights, turn right into Paracelsusstraße. The hotel is 150 metres away from here.
The best way to get around and see Salzburg is on foot. However, there is also an inexpensive bus and tram system, as well as a network of bike paths. Cars are banned from parts of the old town.
