Getting around: Rome''s efficient integrated transportation system includes buses, trams, subways (Metro), and suburban trains. Tickets should be bought before boarding and are available from ATAC ticket machines and all tobacconists (tabacchi). A single ticket (BIT) costs €1, is valid for 75 minutes, and covers unlimited bus journeys and one Metro trip. The nearest Metro station is Lepanto, 800 meters from the hotel.

The city center is easily negotiated on foot. Rome justifiably has a reputation as one of the world’s most dangerous places to drive. Narrow streets and drivers’ relaxed attitudes toward any form of traffic regulations make it a challenge for even the most experienced driver.

Getting there: Express trains depart every 30 minutes to Rome’s Termini train station (journey time 30 minutes). A single ticket costs €9.50. From Termini station, take the Metro Line A to Lepanto (five stops). From there, walk 800 meters (about 0.5 mile) to the hotel or take bus 913 or 70 four stops to Vittoria Colonna, 200 meters (about 220 yards) from the hotel. Alternatively, take bus 70 from Repubblica, opposite Termini station, for 12 stops straight to Vittoria Colonna. A taxi from Termini costs around €15. Taxis are readily available at the airport; visitors should use a licensed metered taxi only. A taxi to the hotel costs around €40, including an airport surcharge. The hotel also offers airport transportation: €80 from the airport and €50 from the hotel.
