The Red Room - With deep burgundy walls, armchairs and sofas, and heavy tied-back curtains framing views of Carlos Place, this intimate lounge has a celebrated tradition of afternoon tea. Open all day.

The American Bar - Named during the prohibition era when many Americans crossed an ocean to enjoy alcoholic beverages legally, this bar is less formal than the rest of the hotel. Guests can relax by the fireside in leather-backed chairs beneath the gaze of trophy deer heads mounted on the oak-paneled walls. Open evenings only, and closed Sunday.
