Entertainment

Acclaimed entertainer "Downtown" Gordie Brown brings his engaging comedy and mastery of impersonation to the Theatre Ballroom. Accompanied by his live band, Brown combines dozens of classic impressions with nonstop music and comedy. Brown has received numerous awards including "Entertainer of the Year," "Best Comedian," and "Best New Show." Reserved tickets are $55. Performances are scheduled Saturdays through Wednesdays at 7:30 PM with an additional Saturday show at 9:30 PM; dark on Thursdays and Fridays.
Under a vault of two million light bulbs and employing a 550,000-watt sound system, a four-block pedestrians-only stretch of downtown Las Vegas called Fremont Street Experience presents periodic sound-and-light shows from dusk to midnight. Other day-and-night entertainment on the street includes live music, classic-car displays, and holiday festivals. Like nine other downtown casino hotels, this hotel opens directly onto Fremont Street, creating a lively flow of pedestrian traffic.
In The Lounge, bands play pop, swing, and R&B. Soft lighting, ornate canopies, and brass chandeliers harkening back to the original hotel''s "gambling hall" distinguish the high-energy Casino, which offers 36,000 square feet of slots, video poker, video keno, blackjack, craps, roulette, pai gow, Caribbean poker, and race/sports betting.
In addition to Gordie Brown''s normal dark days (with no performance), the show will not be performed on April 1, 2006, as the showroom will be under renovation.
