Flight check-in and baggage service: Hawaiian Airlines is teaming with Outrigger and Ohana hotels to provide flight check-in and luggage drop-off in Waikiki. The remote check-in service is available from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM daily at the Outrigger Waikiki, the Outrigger Reef, the Ohana East, and the Ohana Maile Sky Court. Fee for baggage handling is $5 per bag and $15 per family (up to four passengers in one itinerary; fees subject to change without prior notification). Travelers wishing to check in for flights and solely print boarding passes can do so for free. The baggage-handling fee covers delivery of bags to the airport and ensuring baggage is presented for agricultural and security inspections; travelers retrieve their bags when they get to their final destination.
Getting there: Shuttles and taxis are available right outside baggage claim. Shuttles cost $5–$15 per person, taxis $26–$35. Rental cars are another option and are available online.

Getting around: Walking is the best way to get around Waikiki. Public transportation around Honolulu and the island is also easy, with bus stops everywhere. Single bus fare anywhere is less than $5, and a four-day visitor’s pass is available for $16–$25. Taxis are readily available (phone rather than trying to hail one), and are a good choice for short trips. For excursions to various points around the island, a rental car is the best bet.
