Heraklion International Airport (HER): Approximate driving time is 40 minutes and distance is 38 kilometres (25 miles).
Guests are advised to take a taxi directly to the hotel and can expect to pay around €40. Both taxis and buses can be found outside the airport. Typical taxi fare should be €4-5 to Heraklion city; agree fare beforehand.
Driving directions: From the airport take the National Road towards Agios Nikolaos. Continue to the end and turn left. Continue and turn right at the traffic lights. Drive through Malia and turn left at the sign for Sissi/Vrachasi/Milatos. Follow this road for approximately two kilometres and turn left at the sign for Milatos. After 20 metres follow the signs for Sissi. Once in Sissi turn right at the supermarket called Domenicana. After 200 metres the hotel is on the left.
The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonable but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
