Cairo International Airport (CAI): Approximate driving time is 25 minutes and distance is 15 kilometres (10 miles).

Black and white taxis are available from the airport to central Cairo. They leave from outside the Arrivals hall. The journey to the hotel costs about 12 USD. Alternatively, the hotel can arrange airport transfers.

One of the best way to explore Cairo is by the new Metro system. It is very inexpensive and not too crowded. But, buses and minibuses are still the most common form of transport for Cairenes, although taxis are a better option for visitors. Boats depart frequently for University, a landing over on the Giza side of the river. Every second boat continues south to Manial, Rhoda, Giza and Masr al-Qadima (old Cairo).
