Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL): Approximate driving time is 20 minutes and distance is 7 kilometers (4 miles).
The JetExpressBus TXL, runs from the airport to the city and back every 10 minutes from early in the morning until late in the evening. The Express Bus Line X9 goes from the airport to Zoo train station which is opposite the A&O Hostel am Zoo. Taxis to the center cost around €15-€20.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A111 and change onto the A100. Follow the road to the Kurfurstendamm exit, then follow the Kurfurstendamm as far as Joachimstaler Strasse and turn left. The hostel is on the left hand side.
Many of Berlin’s attractions can be reached easily on foot, but the Zoo Station opposite the A&O Hostel am Zoo also offers excellent bus and train services into the city center.
