Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS): Approximate driving time is 30 minutes and distance is 20 kilometres (12.5 miles).
There is a railway station in the terminal’s central hall, under Schiphol Plaza; direct trains run to Amsterdam Centraal Station (3.5 kilometres away) approximately every 15 minutes. Schiphol Travel Taxis are available from outside the arrivals hall. Public buses also run regularly to Amsterdam and other cities.
Driving directions: From Schiphol Airport: Follow Highway Amsterdam A4. Then follow Highway A10, direction Amstelveen. Take exit S108, Amstelveen-Zuid. At the end, at the traffic lights, you turn right. At the second traffic light you turn left. You will approach a roundabout, take (=second left), Cornelis Krussemanstraat. Continue straight ahead, street will go over in Lairessestraat. At the fourth traffic light (at your left you will see the Concert hall) turn left, the van Baerlestraat. At the second traffic lights you turn left again, P.C. Hoofstraat. The hotel will be on the right.
Much of Amsterdam can be explored on foot although trams run throughout the city. More adventurous visitors may wish to hire bicycles.
